What We Do

Commonwealth Cultural Resources Group, Inc. (CCRG) is a full-service cultural resource management firm. Founder and president Donald J. Weir leads a team of accomplished professionals in working with private clients and governmental agencies to design and implement projects that comply with environmental and cultural resources regulations and legal mandates.

Based in Jackson, Michigan, CCRG has regional offices in Buffalo, New York, and Minocqua, Wisconsin. From all locations, CCRG has the facilities and equipment for any size cultural resources project. CCRG maintains 3,000 square feet of laboratory and document storage space, including separate facilities to house equipment and records.

CCRG offers clients integrated teams who design and implement projects specific to our clients' needs. Our professional staff have expertise in prehistoric, historic, and industrial archaeology; history and architectural history; preservation planning and compliance document preparation; and specialized laboratory analyses. All technical team members meet the Secretary of the Interior's guidelines for cultural resource professionals.

CCRG's project teams are fully supported by in-house professionals experienced in accounting, word processing, and computer imaging. CCRG prepares reports using the latest computer equipment and software, allowing us to customize documents for our clients. Maps and illustrations are prepared with professional understanding and technical expertise using computerized graphics technologies. CCRG also employs global positioning systems (GPS) technology and provides geographic information systems (GIS) support for projects.
